The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a national examination system administered by the College Entrance Board. There are two types of CLEP examinations, General Examinations and Subject Examinations. These examinations are based on typical courses in a variety of colleges throughout the country. CLEP exams are offered throughout the year during the morning, or afternoon. Weekend testing is also available.

At HCC, you may earn up to thirty (30) credits towards an Associate Degree through a combination of CLEP and Challenge Exams. The college credits granted by HCC from CLEP exams will be treated as transfer credits and are subject to the transfer policy of the institution to which they are transferred.  If you are planning to use credits earned through a CLEP test at another College or University, we encourage you make sure that your College or University will accept these credits BEFORE you register.
